Something Different

First of all, let me say, WOW! I need 3 more followers to reach 200!! Thank you all so much for commenting and following my blog. It makes doing this SO much more fun!! Stay tuned for the cartridge giveaway. I hope we'll get there this week! :)

Last night was a bit of a crazy night. Up late again!! I actually tried a new idea out that totally B-O-M-B-E-D, lol. Ever have one of those? The thing that stinks is that I loved the concept but I can't seem to get it right on paper. Part of it is that I'm such a novice stamper that one mess up can be very discouraging. That's why I usually stamp my sentiments on a rectangle or some other detached piece of paper, JUST in case! :)

Anyway, my "failure" actually prompted another idea. Everything happens for a reason, they say! ;)

I took this paper and traced some of the design with my white gel pen. This is an A2 sized card (shocker!) and I used the Sentimentals cartridge. I cut the "stamp" at 4" x 5" and the sentiment is My Pink Stamper. I used black gems for the centers of the flowers. I am happy with the way it turned out, and I may use this tracing technique in the future. I think it gives it a sort of Asian feel, which I love!

I like this a lot! It's amazing how a white gel pen or some gems can totally change everything!

Beautiful Card.
Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog, Shauna. To answer your question about cardstock, the card base is PaperTrey Ink Perfect Match cardstock. This is very thick cardstock and works really well as a card base. I find it hard to cut on the Cricut consistantly, but love it for bases.
The polka dot is also a PaperTrey Ink paper. It is not thick but a nice light cardstock that cuts well. The leaves were some Core'Dination that I had in my scraps. The rest was just various pieces that I had in my scraps, so I am not really sure what specifically it is.

Thanks,
Cindy :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I don't get to much traffic. I subbed you, so hopefully you'll break 200 soon. Great blog, I am going to look around some more.
