A Minimalist Wedding Card

Sometimes, I like to keep things as simple as possible. That never seems to work when it comes to fixing dinner, helping kids with homework, and all around parenting and wifey-ing(as I like to call it), but it always seems to work when it comes to making cards. I had a friend request a simple and modern wedding card, so I designed this:

Once I thought of the concept, It only took me about 30 minutes to make this card. I don't know, you tell me, is that forever?? It seemed like a short amount of time to me! LOL!

Here's the inside, which I decorated more than usual:

It's an A2 sized card(don't fall off your chair!). I cut two pieces of textured gray paper about a 1/4" smaller than the face of the card. For the front of the card, I cut the wedding couple from the Wild Card cartridge and they were cut at 9.47", even though they only end up being 4". I still haven't quite figured out the real dial size button on the Cricut ;). I used my Gypsy to design this card. The hearts were from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge and were cut at 1/2" for the front heart, and 1" for the inside heart. I used the iRock to add a little bling to the dress and suit. The lettering on the inside was from the Storybook Cartridge and were cut at 1".  I glued it all on and there you have it! I did use a pop-up foam for the front heart, but everything else was glued flat. Don't forget the black satin ribbon on the front of the card. I decided not to tie a bow this time to keep it as simple as possible!

Well, we only have about two weeks left until our family trip to Disney World. We are so so so excited, and I just know that I'm going to end up wanting some Disney cartridges for scrapbooking once we get back. :)

Didn't know that this wedding couple was on Wild Card. I am going have to remember that.
I know the dreams come true disney cartridge is on sale this week at Joann's for $19. You might want to get it for your trip pictures.

Nice card! We are going to Disneyworld in 2 weeks too! My son and husband have never been and it was a very long time ago when I went. Maybe we can get a deal on the Disney cartridges! Have a safe and wonderful trip.
