My Pink Stamper Pink-alicious Blog Hop!!

Hello! It's that time again!! If you've been participating in the blog hop and got here from Shelley 's blog, you're in the right place. If not, and you'd like to participate, start here at My Pink Stamper

So, let's get down to business. I have to admit, I was totally stumped when we were given our themes. It should not have been hard for me because the theme was black + our favorite color. Hello! Black IS my favorite color! This should have been a piece of cake. I actually do have another favorite color, though, as you can see below. PURPLE!!! I knew I wanted to do something other than a card, although you could easily turn this into one.

Be prayerful. Be true. Be humble.

It's a picture frame! I even used Mod Podge for the first time. This was so easy. You wouldn't BELIEVE how easy it was. The hardest part was coming up with the idea, lol! Here's what I did:

1) First, I found this glass frame. This one is 7" x 5" but you can use wood or glass of ANY size. I measured the purple Damask paper to the exact size of the frame and used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the front of the frame.

2) Then, I cut the black frame from the Lacy Labels cartridge at 6.62" x 4" from my Gypsy and Expression.

3) I found this amazing purple foil paper at Michael's, cut it to fit the label and also embossed it with the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug folder.

4) Next, I cut a cross shadow and layer at 3" from the Indie Art Cartridge. The shadow was cut in white and embossed with the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder.

5) I glued all of the pieces down(except the black part of the cross) and added the purple gems.

6) Here's the fun part!! The sentiment! I arranged the My Pink Stamper- More Faithful Sayings  stamps in a cross formation on my acrylic block and stamped it onto the black cross that I set aside. You can see which retailers have pre-orders for Robyn's fabulous new release stamp sets here. I love love LOVE! this stamp set!!

7) After the ink dried, I adhered the black cross to the white cross with 3-D glue dots and voila!! Done!

Now you have to go see what the amazing Edna has in store for you!!! Have fun hopping! :)

If you've lost your place, here's a list of the hoppers:

Hola!! Ok, so my Spanish speaking skills are rusty, but that doesn't mean my Spanish speaking family and/or friends wouldn't enjoy a homemade card in Spanish! :)

I absolutely love this new paper that I got from DCWV. It's the Citrus Mat pack and it's so colorful. It really makes me long for Spring!! It also kind of reminds me of some decorative pottery you sometimes see on people's porches.

This was the first time I've ever used brads. I really love working with them. They add so much to a project!

Project details: This is an A2 sized card. I used white paper and a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch set and put the decorative paper I mentioned above, on top of it. I cut out this flower at 2" from the Cindy Loo cartridge. The sentiment tag was a happy accident. I used my rounded corner punch and it ended up overlapping on each side. I liked the way it looked, so I kept it! You can't tell, but I used my Spica glitter pens on the flower. The closest I could get to showing it glisten was with a flash.

The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's newly released set Spanish Sayings. I really do have Spanish speakers in my family. My cousins actually speak both Spanish and English. I always wanted to be bilingual, but even 5 years of Spanish in high school and college didn't help me with that, LOL!

I hope you're all having a great Monday!! :)

Inking it Up Crazy Birthday Challenge

I saw that Kassidy was having a birthday challenge, so I thought I'd join in!! The prize is being a Guest Designer on her blog!

This is an A2 sized card. I cut the monkey from Create-a-Critter at 4". This is a milestone card for me because, for the first time, I also used the my very first set of Peachy Keen stamps that I won off of their last blog hop! I can see how people get so addicted to them!! The sentiment is My Pink Stamper. I used Stickles on the present and my new Spica glitter pens on the sentiment, in some places on the background paper, and on the monkey's tongue, hee hee! This picture was the closest I could get to the color in person. I need a new camera, BAD!!!

Today's been pretty darn quiet. Can't complain about that! How's your Sunday? :)

A Girly Gift Box

I've been watching a little too much You Tube!! I get sucked into watching one video, which leads to me to another and another and another....Well, after watching this one on making paper roses using Cricut cuts, I was hooked on making them myself!! You'll probably see a few of my projects include these in the future. I already have a few on reserve for the near future as well.

We were stuck inside ALL weekend with icy weather. Also, the husband contracted a stomach bug, which was probably the result of many many hospital visits for our parishioners recently. It seems everyone is sick!! I was armed with a can of Lysol and quarantined him to the bedroom. I even made him text me if he needed something. I'm horrible, I know! I hope the rest of us avoid getting it!!

Anyway, the girls and I were going stir crazy so I took out my Martha Stewart Score Board and went to her website. I found this box recipe and combined it with roses to come up with this girly gift box:

I cannot remember what I cut this butterfly at, maybe 4"? Something tells me I cut it bigger though, and I used the Sentimentals cartridge for it. I used George and Basic Shapes for the roses as the video suggested and I used stickles for some bling. I also used a border punch for the cover of the box.

I really wish I had thicker ribbon for this! I think it would have added so much!! Anyway, I hope you like this as much as I enjoyed making it. I'm glad to say that my husband was back to work this morning and is feeling much better. I hope you are all able to avoid the nasty sicknesses of winter!! :)

Let Your Light Shine

Hello to all of my new followers!!! I'm so glad you're here!

I made this card tonight as I was thinking about something I'm always telling my stepdaughters.

                                               "Be yourself."

I knew this card would speak to them, and you should have seen Grace's(11 year old) face when I showed it to her! I almost just wanted to give it to her right then and there, ha!

This is a standard A2 sized card. The paper is Colorbok from Wal-Mart and I cut the girl at 4" from the Rock Princess Cartridge. I used star shaped gems and stickles for some bling. Here's a close-up:

Robyn aka My Pink Stamper sent her design team some of her new release stamp sets. One of the things I like most about her stamp sets is even if they fit into a "category," they are so versatile!! For instance, one of my favorite new sets(and the one I used for this card) is More Faithful Sayings:

You can do ANYTHING with this set. I have so many ideas and can't wait to show you more of the cards I come up with using her new releases!!
